As a global luxury brand, Engel & Völkers regularly serves elite high-net-worth clients, among them entertainment industry celebrities and current and former professional athletes.

We have recently been involved with properties of two such prominent clients: sale of the late entertainer Robin Williams’ former home in San Francisco’s Sea Cliff neighborhood, and the listing for former NBA star Dwight Howard’s mansion in the Atlanta suburb of Suwanee.

The home, sold by Williams’ ex-wife Marsha for $18.1 million, is a 20-room, nearly 11,000- square-foot Italian Renaissance villa in one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge, with views of the Marin Headlands. She lived in the home, built in 1926, for more than 30 years and raised their children there.

Among Sea Cliff’s high-profile residents over the years have been photographer Ansel Adams, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, and actress Sharon Stone.

The Williams’ home features six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, intricately carved ceilings, arched windows, and a dramatic grand staircase. It also includes a media room, an office, and an opulent primary suite with a private Juliet balcony. Hidden behind a paneled wall in the suite is a multipurpose space described as a “safe room/office/meditation room.”

"This is the second time that I’ve worked with fellow Engel & Völkers Private Office advisors to represent buyers who’ve purchased iconic properties from the late actor Robin Williams’ estate,” says Rob Landsness, Managing Director, Family Office Division, Engel & Völkers Gestalt Group. “First with William Densberger for the Villa Sorriso vineyard estate in Napa Valley and now with Ken Dara for this landmark historic property in Sea Cliff.”

Howard’s 32,460-square-foot 10-bedroom mansion, built over five years and completed in 2010, is listed at $11.25 million. He is selling it after seven years of ownership. Sitting on 14 acres, the property features multiple apartments, 10 full baths, nine half baths, six full kitchens, and two kitchenettes.

Additionally, it offers an elevator to access the home’s three floors, a large heated saltwater pool that can be enjoyed all year round with a retractable cover, an HVAC-equipped 10-car garage complex, a private lake for fishing and paddle boating, a basketball court, a game room, a movie theater, and expansive gardens behind the pool house.
